A view of South Housing area on the campus of Furman University. At the left in photo is Geer Residence Hall, named after Bennette Eugene Geer, a Furman graduate who became the school�s president in 1933. Geer Hall was completed in 1958. Manly Residence Hall, named after Charles Manly, the second president of Furman, is seen on the right in photo. Manly was the first dormitory built on the new Furman campus. It opened in 1955. Earle Lounge is in between the two dormitories. The Earle Lounge is named in honor of Marshall Delph Earle, M.A., LL.D., Class of 1889. He was a member of the Furman University faculty for 45 years. He was Professor of Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy from 1891-1934. The Marshall Delph Earle Mathematics Scholarship was also named for him.
