Description
Memorial window dedicated to John Belton O'Neall (1792-1863). Jurist, author, social reformer, entrepreneur, O'Neall had risen to the rank of major general of the Third Division, elected to the General Assembly from Newberry District, president of the Newberry Bible Society and S.C. Baptist Convention, and as a member of the Furman's Board of Trustees, led the South Carolina Temperance Society for twenty-two years. Top panel features a flame, a book, a globe and scroll. Bottom panel has inscription "John Belton O'Neall, Born 10th April 1795, Died 27th Dec. 1863, The Apostle of Temperance in S.C." Placement in Judson Alumni Building, auditorium lower right.
